Rasulpur Coffee Estates and Roasters's Story

Indian coffee has come a long way, from 7 seeds to the global market. As 5th generation coffee planters, we take pride in showcasing the best of shade-grown, handpicked, certified, traceable, single-origin, and GI-tagged specialty coffees of India. Our estate, located on the banks of the river Kaveri, boasts a high percentage of top-grade beans (a, aa, aaa) due to the intrinsic geographic and climatic peculiarities of the area, along with the high humus content in the soil.

Our coffee is grown sustainably under 60% shade, provided by natural forest species and fruit and other shade trees. Some areas have even more shade, providing an ideal environment for wildlife to thrive. We use both organic and inorganic fertilizers to maintain the ecological hotspot. Our estate is a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife, including migratory and local bird species, as well as elephants, peacocks, deer, and civet cats. Occasionally, panthers and tigers visit as well.

Different blocks on the estate comprise different varieties of coffee, including Arabica varieties such as Catimor, Chandragiri, Sanroman, Sachimor, and Robusta varieties such as BR series, SLN 274, CXR, and Dwarf Robusta. The average yield at Rasulpur estate is about 30-40 bags of cherry per acre. By maintaining natural forest species of trees along with plenty of fruit and other shade trees, we ensure that our coffee is shade grown under very high organic carbon. This has led to a sustainable quality and a high biodiversity on our estate.
